If a couple is getting married in one state, can they get divorced in another state in India?

Yes. Under Section 19 of HMA, a divorce petition can be filed in a court where
(a) the marriage was solemnised,
(b) either of the spouse resides, or
(c) the couple last resided together.
Thus, divorce can be sought in a different state if proper jurisdiction is established.
